Volkswagen has announced pricing and range details for its new T-Roc Cabriolet for the UK, where order books are now open. The new VW T-Roc Cabriolet will be available in two trim levels -Design and R-Line- and will start from £ 26,750 (US$ 35,300). That will get you a Design model fitted with the base 113 HP 1.0-liter TSI petrol engine. The sportier-looking R-Line models begin at £ 31,920 (US$ 31,900).

The other engine option is the 1.5-liter TSI unit, which produces 147 HP and is optionally available with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Compared to the normal five-door T-Roc, the new T-Roc Cabriolet gets a unique two-door bodystyle and a longer wheelbase by 40mm, enabling for more room inside the cabin and a practical 284-liter boot capacity. The fabric top can be lowered in nine seconds and raised in 11 seconds.

The Design specification of the new VW T-Roc Cabriolet comes with a set of 17-inch alloys, an 8-inch Discover Navigation infotainment system with wireless App-Connect smartphone connectivity, dual zone climate control, Front Assist with pedestrian monitoring, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Lane Assist as standard, among others.

The R-Line models get bigger 19-inch alloy wheels, a model-specific body kit, LED headlights, VW’s Active Info Display cluster, sports seats and a matching steering wheel as standard. The also come with a sports suspension, which lowers the vehicle ride height by 20mm.

Customers in the UK will get to choose between Pure White, Deep Black Pearl, Ivory Silver Metallic, Turmeric Yellow Metallic, Kings Red Metallic and Ravenna Blue Metallic – in addition to the exclusive Ivy Green and Smokey Grey Metallic paint options. The new VW T-Roc Cabriolet indirectly replaces the Golf and Beetle Cabriolet models in the brand’s range but we have to wait and see if VW’s move to launch such a model will prove successful.
