New hypercars promising world-beating
performance come across our desks quite frequently and just last week, the
Czinger 21C was unveiled, a car that promises to out-performance the Koenigsegg
Regera from 0-400-0 km/h. Now, we have a host of new images of the car to
enjoy.
The first thing that strikes you about the
21C is its unique exterior design. In an industry where many supercars and
hypercars look alike (at least according to some), the Czinger really is unlike
anything else on the road. This is most notable with the design of the cabin
that features a tandem seating configuration, allowing the driver to sit in the
center of the car with a single passenger right behind.
This configuration has allowed the
designers of the hypercar to really accentuate the rest of the bodywork with
bulging wheel arches and flowing lines. The new images of the car show it in its
two available guises. The base model, pictured below in white, lacks some of
the crazy aerodynamic elements of its sibling, the Lightweight Track
configuration model.
This variant, pictured in both blue and carbon fiber
finishes, will be the first version to hit the market and includes a pronounced
front splitter, new side skirts, and a large rear wing.
Performance promised by the 21C is
something else. Powering the hypercar is a mid-mounted 2.88-liter flat-plane
crank V8 engine aided by two turbochargers and a pair of electric motors at the
front axle. All up it delivers 1,232 hp and revs to 11,000 rpm. Czinger claims
the car can hit 100 km/h in 1.9 seconds, run from zero to 300
km/h back to zero in 15 seconds, and do 0-400-0 km/h in just 29
seconds.
The car was scheduled to be unveiled at
the Geneva Motor Show next week but since the event was canceled, we’ll have to
wait and see when and where the company will debut its creation.
