The 2021 Ford Bronco is fast approaching
and set to be unveiled next month. The automaker is keen to ensure customers
have a plethora of accessories available as soon as the rugged off-roader lands
in dealerships. According to Auto News, Ford will initially offer in excess of
150 accessories for the 2021 Bronco, all of which can be warrantied and
financed through Ford Motor Credit Co. The car manufacturer has reportedly
replaced more than half of its regional accessories distributors in recent
months while updating a website for dealers and is promising faster parts
shipments when the Bronco arrives.
According to member of the Ford council
and owner of San Tan Ford in Gilbert, Arizona, Tim Hovik, Ford doesn’t want to
repeat the errors it made with the Ranger by initially having little inventory
of accessories for the pickup and slow parts shipments.
As the Bronco approaches, a revamped Ford
Accessory Distributor network with seven regional providers has been
established to enable quick-turn orders and to prevent dealers from needing to
amass large inventories of parts. John Crane, chairman of the Ford National
Dealer Council and owner of Golf Mill Ford in Niles, Illinois said accessories
are very important to Ford customers.
Ford expects to sell up to 200,000 Bronco
and Bronco Sport (aka the ‘Baby Bronco’) models in the first year of
production.
