With a massive 797 HP and 957 Nm)of torque produced by the 6.2-liter supercharged V8, the Dodge
Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye is anything but powerless. Nonetheless, Hennessey
decided that it needs to have hypercar levels of power and proceeded with
upgrading the Redeye with its HPE1000 pack that includes among other parts, a
2.65-liter supercharger system, pulley and throttle body upgrades, high-flow catalytic
converters and supercharger bypass valve.
Available for the 2019-2020 MY, it lifts
power to 1,035 HP at 6,500 rpm and 1,285 Nm)of peak torque at 4,200
rpm. These numbers are achievable when the car runs on race gas, and even more
impressively, the Texan tuner claims an outstanding output of 880 HP and 1,093 Nm on the wheels.
To put their money where their mouth is,
they strapped the modified Redeye to the dyno during the lab testing phase of
the build and set it loose at the track to prove that it’s fast, no matter the
surrounding environment.
Without the Hennessey kit, the stock
Challenger SRT Redeye has the ability to sprint from rest to 0-96 km/h in just 3.4 seconds, with the factory spec sheet talking of a max speed of 326 km/h and only 10.8 seconds needed to run the quarter mile, on a good
day. The Redeye has a manufacturer suggested retail price of US$ 70,245, US$ 5,000
and US$ 11,000 more than the Hellcat Widebody and regular Hellcat, respectively.
The Challenger lineup starts at US$ 28,095.
