Maserati is using the ‘first come, first
served’ basis to sell the 100 units of the Quattroporte and Levante Zegna
Pelletessuta special editions, which have started arriving at U.S. dealerships.
Available for the S versions of both models, they’re limited to 50 cars each
and pack a special upholstery, offered exclusively by Maserati and Zegna. Named
the Pelletessuta, the material blends new and old technologies for the nicely
crafted interior.
“The result of research using thin strips of
Nappa leather in place of fabric yarns which are woven together and interlaced
replicating the traditional method of weaving cloth to obtain a real ‘fabric’
from leather”, the Trident brand explained. “This is an example of combining
new avant-garde technologies with century-old traditions to create innovation.”
Finished in custom Blu Sofisticato
metallic paint, on top of the Dark Brown interior, the Quattroporte S Zegna
Pelletessuta get blue brake calipers, unique ‘Zegna Edition’ badge inside and
sports seats. The SUV comes in Bronzo tri-coat with black interior, sits on
21-inch polished Helios rims and gets black calipers.
No pricing information has been announced,
but expect to pay a lot more than the standard Levante S and Quattroporte S,
which start at US$ 84,490 and US$ 105,490 respectively in North America. Both share a
3.0-liter V6 engine that develops 424 HP and 580 Nm of torque. Nought
to 96 km/h takes 5.0 seconds in the SUV and 4.8 seconds in the
sedan, while top speed stands at 264-288 km/h, respectively.
