Brabus is asking € 79,500 (including tax) for the tuned Mercedes-AMG
A35, which equals to around US$ 88,400 at current exchange rates. Paying that much
on the German hot hatch won’t make you king of the hill either, because despite
the whopping asking price, it’s still less powerful than the stock AMG A45 and
A45 S.
The Brabus B35S, which is the official
designation of the car, has 365 PS and 460 Nm of
torque that come courtesy of the PowerXtra+ kit. The extra 59 PS and 60 Nm produced by the 2.0-liter turbo-four lets it hit 100
km/h (62 mph) in 4.4 seconds, 0.3 seconds quicker than the stock model.
For € 56,227.50 (US$ 62,462), which is the
MSRP of the new A45 in Germany, you would get 387 PS and 480
Nm. The A45 S that starts at € 61,820.50 (US$ 68,675), unleashes 421 PS and 500 Nm, does the 0-100 km/h in 3.9
seconds and tops out at 270 km/h. As for the stock A35, it goes for
over € 47,529 (US$ 52,799) in Germany. For the record, none of the above are
exactly bargains either.
Aside from the boost in power, the B35S
comes with the tuner’s body kit, blacked-out chrome elements, 19-inch wheels
and sports exhaust system. It also adds special entry sills, custom paddle
shifters and floor mats, and that’s about all. It was registered in August last
year, has 2,250 km on the clock and cannot make a decent case for
itself. Keep in mind that the A35 is the entry-level AMG model.
