Brabus has turned its attention to the latest Mercedes-Benz GLE (W167), offering a wide range of styling and performance upgrades for the luxury SUV. Starting with the added muscle, the tuner has released two power kits for the GLE 300 d and GLE 400 d turbo diesel engines of the W167 model series. The Brabus PowerXtra D30 plug-and-play control module for the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder diesel bumps power from 258 PS  to 306 PS at 3,600 rpm.

Peak torque also increases from 620 Nm to 690 Nm, available from 1,600 to 2,400 rpm. As a result, the Mercedes-Benz GLE 300 d sprints from zero to 100 km/h in 6.0 seconds, 1.4 seconds quicker than the stock car. The top speed rises as well to 229 km/h.

For the GLE 400 d, the Brabus PowerXtra D40 module takes the 2.9-liter straight-six turbo diesel from 330 PS to 370 PS at 4,200 rpm. The maximum torque also rises from 700 Nm to 750 Nm, on tap from 2,500 rpm. The gains are reflected in a more effortless power delivery, a shorter 0-100 km/h sprint of 5.5 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h.

Besides the D30 and D40 modules, Brabus is developing additional engine tuning kits for other GLE engines.

For the outside, Brabus can give the Mercedes-Benz GLE a more dynamic appearance courtesy of new aero parts and custom Brabus Monoblock wheels up to 23 inches in diameter, as well as a more individualized interior. Highlights include new caps for the side air intakes of the AMG Line front fascia, a rear roof spoiler, and 23-inch Brabus Monoblock ‘Platinum Edition’ wheels shod with Continental SportContact high-performance tires sized 295/35 ZR23.

Brabus also offers a module for the AIRMATIC air suspension which lowers the ride height by about 25 mm. In the cabin, the Bottrop-based tuner can fit two-tone stainless scuff plates with backlit Brabus logo, matte anodized aluminum pedals, door-lock pins and footrest, as well as exclusive materials like fine leather, Alcantara, wood and genuine carbon in a variety of colors.
