What do you get the kid who has it all?
Well, you could stop spoiling them for one, but if that’s out of the question,
then you could try your luck with even more expensive toys. Of course, you
could also inject them with the highly addictive motor virus by getting them a
pedal car, or if the budget allows it, then one of the finest examples
available in today’s market is the Shelby 289 Cobra Junior.
We will talk about the finances (and other
details) required for such a purchase shortly, but first, let’s see what makes
it special. Built to replicate the looks of the iconic sports car, it is
finished in the traditional Shelby Blue and adorned with white racing stripes
spanning from the front all the way to the back.
It also features working headlights and a
horn, but more impressively, a steel chassis, glass-reinforced plastic body,
front and rear disc brakes, fully independent suspension and a steering system
described as being “sophisticated”. As you wouldn’t want the little one to
sweat it out, it also comes with a 110 cc internal combustion engine, with one
cylinder, that can push it up to a top speed of 64 km/h.
Now, let’s go back to the money part and
cut to the chase: you’re looking at an estimated US$ 20,000 to US$ 30,000 for this
Shelby 289 Cobra Junior. To place a bid for it, you will have to take part in
RMSothebys’ Amelia Island auction, in Florida, that takes place on March 6-7.
Don’t forget the credit card at home if you do.
