Volkswagen
revealed they have received 37,000 reservations for the ID.3 1st Edition which
is limited to 30,000 units. Since the model is sold out, the company is now
directing customers to the ID.3 Pure, ID.3 Pro and ID.3 Pro S.
The entry-level ID.3 Pure features a 45
kWh battery which enables the model to travel up to 330 km on a
single charge. A 125 hp electric motor comes standard, but
customers can also opt for a more powerful 148 hp unit.
In Germany, the ID.3 Pure will cost less
than € 30,000 and come equipped with LED lighting units, an Air Care Climatronic
air conditioning system and natural voice control. The model also sports a
keyless ignition, ambient interior lighting and driver assistance systems such
as Lane Assist, Front Assist, Park Distance Control and Dynamic Road Sign
Display.
The ID.3 Pro will start at less than
€ 35,000 and it features a larger 58 kWh battery which provides a range of up to 420 km on a single charge. The model can also be equipped with an
electric motor that has outputs of 143 hp or 201 hp.
The range-topping ID.3 Pro S has an even
larger 77 kWh battery and this increases the range to 550 km. It
also comes standard with an electric motor that develops 201 hp. The ID.3 will be offered with an assortment of customization options
including Style Silver and Style Penny Copper exterior packages. They add
20-inch wheels as well as silver or copper accents.
To spruce up the cabin, there will be
Style and Style Plus packages. They add Sumba Flow fabric seats with ArtVelours
microfleece as well as a heated leather steering wheel and an ambient lighting
system which has 30 colors instead of the usual 10. The Style Plus package goes
even further as it adds power heated front seats with a massage function.
Customers can also opt for an augmented reality head-up display and a
seven-speaker premium audio system with a subwoofer.
The ID.3 will be launched this summer and
the company plans to build 1.5 million electric vehicles as early as 2025.
