The current Honda Accord is already quite
a dynamic-looking vehicle, but over in Japan where the mid-size sedan recently
went on sale, shoppers have a host of original optional accessories they can
order from the brand’s “Access” division to make their rides stand out.
Starting at the front, the new Accord can
be equipped with new lower skirts on either side of the bumper, for a price of
44,000 yen (US$ 408). In addition, a new front grille can be optioned for the same
price tag.
Spin around to the side and customers can
cough up 66,000 yen (US$ 612) for eye-catching skirts that add to the sporty
appeal of the vehicle. Similarly, the rear bumper can be equipped with lower
skirt add-ons for 44,000 yen, like those at the front. Speaking of the rear, a
trunk lip spoiler is also available for 44,000 yen, as is a black Honda emblem
for a modest 7,700 yen (US$ 71).
The most costly optional extras are the
wheels. First, Honda is selling a set of 18-inch aluminum wheels for 46,200 yen
(US$ 428) while 19-inch versions are available for
49,500 yen (US$ 459). Aluminum wheel garnish can also be optioned for 16,500 yen
(US$ 153).
A host of interior upgrades are also
available. For example, Honda Japan offers front and second-row side step
garnishes for 36,000 yen (US$ 333), as well as pattern projection lights priced at
33,000 yen (US$ 306). Other goodies include the paddle lights for 22,000 yen
(US$ 204), door pocket illumination for 11,000 yen (US$ 102), and three different
trunk finishes, including a carpeted mat, a trunk tray, and a cargo box to
carry items.
