Shortly after pricing details for the 2021
Cadillac Escalade leaked online, the first official details and a single photo
of the range-topping Escalade ESV have surfaced as well. Like the previous
iteration, the new Escalade ESV represents the extended-wheelbase version. That
means it’s Really big. In fact, the 2021 Escalade ESV is 5,766
mm long compared to 5,382 mm for the standard model, and has a 3,407 mm wheelbase to the 3,071 mm wheelbase of the
regular model.
Car and Driver reports that the new
Escalade ESV also has 18.1 per cent more cargo volume behind the front row than
the previous-generation, with cargo capacity now sitting at 3,584 liters, much greater than the 3,089 liters of the
standard-wheelbase 2021 Escalade.
Two engine options are available. The
first is a 6.2-liter V8 producing 420 hp and 623 Nm of torque but
should customers wish, they can select a new Duramax turbo-diesel 3.0-liter
inline-six for no additional charge – rated at 277 hp and 623 Nm.
Both engines are coupled to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Rear- and
all-wheel drive models are available.
Fittingly, prices put the Escalade ESV at
a premium as it starts at US$ 80,490 for the rear-wheel drive Luxury model,
compared to the US$ 76,195 starting price of the standard model. The ESV range
tops out at US$ 92,890 for the all-wheel drive Sport model. It doesn’t appear as
though the ESV can be outfitted in the range-topping Premium Luxury and
Platinum Package trims like the normal model.
