Even as new orders for the 2020 Chevrolet C8 Corvette have been halted, GM’s plans for the 2021 model have reportedly leaked ahead of the official announcement this May. Apparently a list of the 2021 updates was posted on a C8 Corvette Owners Group on Facebook, outlining the changes in the C8 Corvette’s range and optional extras.

Highlights of the 2021MY changes include the addition of two new color options, namely Red Mist Tintcoat and Silver Flare, which are completely new paint codes. Corvette Blogger reports that these will replace the existing Long Beach Red and Blade Silver options. Chevrolet decided to offer the Magnetic Selective Ride Control as a standalone option instead of being part of the Z51 performance package. Wireless Apple CarPlay is also going to be standard across the range.

The 2021 model year update is also going to introduce new stripe options in seven colors for the full-length setup and three two-tone color combos for the “Stinger” hood setup. Prospective buyers of the 2021 C8 Corvette will be also offered the option of the new “Stingray R” graphics package, which could mimic the livery of the C8.R race car, as well as a race car-themed car cover.

Those hoping for the return of the 5VM Visible Carbon Fiber Splitter and Side Skirts option will be apparently disappointed as the option will continue to be absent according to the leaked document. Chevrolet removed the US$ 4.850 carbon option as reports claimed that GM’s supplier could not meet the surprisingly high demand.

Chevrolet could release the 2021 C8 Corvette this May, though that might depend on the situation with the coronavirus pandemic which has already caused the delay of other GM announcements.
