President of the Hyundai Motor Research and Development Division, Albert Biermann, announced that the new Avante Hybrid would combine a 1.6-liter gasoline engine with a system output of 139 horsepower and a 32kW electric motor.

The new Avante N line is equipped with the same 1.6-liter gasoline turbo engine as the previous Avante Sport, and a 7-speed DCT and 6-speed manual transmission. The current Avante Sport has a peak output of 204 horsepower and a maximum torque of 27.0 kg.m, but the new car is expected to have improved performance. Apart from that, a high-performance N model will be unveiled next year. The 2.0-liter gasoline turbo engine previously applied to Veloster N, and the 8-speed wet DCT and 6-speed manual transmission are promising.
