FAW is developing for itself and its
subsidiaries a new modular platform FME, sharpened for electric cars. Brands
are preparing for its appearance, building prototypes, for example Hongqi E115.
The Bestune brand (also known as Besturn, Bestern, Benteng and Pentium) is
going to open the whole E series, which will complement the B, X and T lines.
The first-born will enter the PRC market in the summer: it will be the mid-size
SUV E01, announced last year by the C105 show car.
On the left is the concept C105, on the right
is the serial E01: 4639 × 1880 × 1640 mm, base 2810. There were
no significant changes along the way to the conveyor. Unless the charging port
moved to the starboard side, and the brand name changed from Bestern to
Bestune.
The interior of the “esh” is equipped almost
like the models T99 and HS5. A digital tidy and a cluster of a pair of
12.3-inch touchscreens are complemented by an eight-inch tablet on the console.
In the “era 2.0” FAW will enter with four series B, E, S, T (recall Teslovsky
S, 3, X, Y). The photo on the right shows the separation of the platforms: FMA
for gasoline models, FME for electric cars.
From the E01 SUV, power is expected to be 82 hp, mileage without recharging 450 km, the third level of autonomous
movement and a voice assistant in the form of a 3D hologram. The start of sales
in China is scheduled for July. Thanks to the “young and fashionable” E-series
and the renaming of the X-line in the “esque” FAW (First Automobile Works) will
have the abbreviation BEST.
