The Sagitar has been in production since
2006, although now FAW-VW is building it in Changchun and Chengdu. The
third-gen model is based on the carmaker’s MQB platform and is available with
either a 1.2-liter TSI unit or a 1.4-liter TSI turbocharged one.
Since 2019, it’s also been available as a
long-wheelbase version, with the wheelbase itself measuring 2.73 meters in length, compared to the U.S. Jetta’s 2.69 meters.
VW’s joint venture with FAW has led to
323,400 units of the Bora being sold last year. This four-door sedan is
available either with a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine, a 1.4 liter TSI
turbocharged unit, plus as an electric version, the e-Bora.
It measures 4.66 meters in
length, 1.81 meters in width and has a wheelbase of 2.69 meters.
