It took Wald International nearly two
years to add the new generation Mercedes-Benz G-Class to its portfolio, but
it’s finally here. We’ll start with the top-of-the-line member of the family,
the Mercedes-AMG G63, which has been dressed in a matte black paint by the
Japanese tuner.
And that’s not all, because they also
fitted it with their ‘Black Bison’ kit, which includes new front and rear
bumpers, roof spoiler and fender flares. The multi-spoke alloy wheels are
represented by two sets, finished in black and gold.
The white G-Class features a different
interpretation of the body kit, which is apparently available to all versions
of the new generation SUV. It includes the same add-ons, which can be installed
using the original mounting points, as well as a hood scoop and a roof-mounted
LED bar. It rides on different 10.5×22-inch wheels and boasts a sports exhaust
system that gives it a deeper tone.
Wald’s work is limited to revised body
kits for all sorts of vehicles, and this applies here too, meaning that they
called it a day after styling up the regular G-Class and powerful G63. Not that
it really needs more power, especially in the latter trim, which comes with the
4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 that delivers 585 PS and 849 Nm of torque to both axles through a 9-speed automatic transmission. It can
do the 0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and has a top speed of 220 km/h, or 240 km/h with the optional AMG Driver’s Package.
