Touring Superleggera has announced the limited edition Sciadipersia is crossing the Atlantic as the model will now be offered in the United States. Available as a four-seater coupe and convertible, Sciadipersia is based on the Maserati GranTurismo / GranCabrio and features a handcrafted exterior with lightweight aluminum body panels and carbon fiber components.

The transformation is quite remarkable and Touring Superleggera describes the cars as a “modern manifestation of the romance of travel, evoking the ethos of the Orient Express on four wheels.” While we wouldn’t go that far, the models are virtually unrecognizable as they feature a new front fascia with mesh grille inserts and controversial headlights.

Further back, there’s a new hood and flowing bodywork. The coupe is the more distinctive of the two as it features a contrasting C-pillar and a unique rear window. However, both models have a new trunk and a custom rear end with a prominent exhaust system.

While the exterior is certainly unique, the cabin largely carries over. Despite this, there are number of special touches including premium leather and Alcantara upholstery. Drivers will also find revised instrumentation, new trim and special badging. Power comes from a 4.7-liter V8 engine that produces 454 hp and 520 Nm of torque. It is connected to a six-speed automatic transmission which sends power to the rear wheels.

The setup enables the coupe to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in approximately 4.6 seconds, before hitting an estimated top speed of 301 km/h. The convertible is bit slower as the dash to 100 km/h takes around 5 seconds while the top speed is approximately 288 km/h.

Production is limited to 15 units and Touring Superleggera is currently in the process of setting up a “select number of exclusive dealers” in the United States. In the meantime, interested customers can reach out via their website.
