The facelifted Vauxhall Insignia will
reach UK dealerships this summer, bringing subtle design tweaks, new engines
and tech, and one less body style. Yes, the Insignia Sports Tourer is no longer
offered in Britain, making the Insignia Grand Sport five-door liftback (simply
called Insignia now) the only body style available. 2021MY Vauxhall Insignia
prices start at £ 23,120 (US$ 28,450) on-the-road, which is roughly three grand
more than the current model.
The automaker explains the increased base
price with the all-new range of powertrains, revised tech and modified trim
level structure which brings more standard kit than before. In Germany, the
facelifted Opel Insignia starts at € 31,790 (US$ 34,600), including VAT.
The new Insignia is available to order now
in five trim levels: SE Nav, SRi Nav, SRi VX-Line Nav, Ultimate Nav and GSi.
Customers opting for the base SE Nav model get pretty much all the features an
average user would ever need.
Interior highlights include a 7-inch
Multimedia Navi infotainment and sat nav system with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto
connectivity, comfort front seats, dual-zone climate control, cruise control
with intelligent speed limiter, multifunction steering wheel wrapped in
leather, and 60/40 split-folding rear seats. On the outside, the 2021 Vauxhall
Insignia comes with standard LED headlights and taillights, LED DRLs, front and
rear parking sensors, 17-inch alloys, electrically adjustable/heated door
mirrors, and more.
The standard safety kit includes automatic
emergency braking with pedestrian detection, forward collision alert, following
distance indicator, lane departure warning with lane assist, traffic sign
recognition, ESP, ABS, hill start assist, tyre pressure monitoring, six
airbags, and more.
The base engine is a 1.4-liter
turbocharged three-cylinder petrol making 145 PS, mated to a standard
six-speed manual transmission or an optional CVT. Next up is a 1.5-liter
turbocharged three-cylinder diesel rated at 122 PS and available with either
a six-speed manual or eight-speed auto.
Customers can also opt for a 2.0-liter

turbo-four petrol too that comes exclusively with a nine-speed automatic
transmission. Finally, the range-topping Insignia GSi packs a 230 PS turbo-four petrol hooked to a nine-speed auto and AWD as standard.
