A series of images have surfaced out of China showing the new facelifted version of the market’s Volkswagen Phideon luxury sedan. China’s Autohome notes that the tweaks made to the exterior of the updated Phideon are incredibly minute but that’s not a bad thing as the outgoing model still looks quite fresh. The most obvious change comes at the front end where VW has designed a new grille with slightly more pronounced and sculpted chrome fog light surrounds.

Other than this new front bumper, pretty everything else looks the same. Some minor alterations have been made to the taillights but other than that, the Phideon continues to sport sharp and aggressive headlights while also featuring quad tailpipes that feature a particularly intriguing design.

As no mechanical modifications have been made, the tweaked Phideon remains 5,074 mmlong, 1,893 mm wide, 1,489 mm tall and has a 3,009 mm wheelbase. Customers will have three different wheel designs and sizes to choose from, ranging from 17-inch shoes with 225/55 tires to 18-inch wheels wrapped in 245/45 rubber and 19-inch wheels with 255/40 tires.

The facelifted VW Phideon will continue to be powered by the automaker’s familiar 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder EA888 engine producing 224 hp and 350 Nm of torque and mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. It remains unclear when sales of the updated Phideon will kick off.
