The RS Q8 is the most expensive Audi Sport
model and the most powerful SUV ever to feature the four-ring logo. You’d think
the stock Audi RS Q8 would be enough for most customers and yet some feel the
unexplained urge to modify it. That’s where companies like Manhart Performance
come in, with the German tuner offering what’s likely the wildest upgrade
package for the high-performance SUV.
It’s called the Manhart RQ 900 and it
takes the stock RS Q8 one step forward when it comes to performance, looks and
soundtrack. First of all, the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine now delivers 900
PS and 1,080 Nm of torque thanks to larger turbochargers,
extensive modifications to the engine and transmission upgrades.
These are massive gains over the stock
model’s 600 PS and 800 Nm of torque. The upgrade should
clearly contribute to superior performance but Manhart does not supply any
specifications.
Moving on to the rest of the upgrades,
Manhart will also fit a rear silencer in Germany or a complete exhaust system
for countries that are not so strict with noise levels. The chassis is upgraded
as well and now features a 30 mm lower suspension. The RQ 900 rides on
23-inch Concave One aluminum rims, which can be had in matte black or gunmetal
gray diamond, depending on the vehicle color.
Manhart has also developed a new carbon
body kit consisting of a bonnet, front spoiler, side skirts, diffuser, and
wheel arch extensions. These parts not only give the RQ 900 a more aggressive
look, but also improve the SUV’s aerodynamics. Rounding out the exterior
upgrades is a Manhart decal set in the color chosen by the customer.
For the interior, the tuner offers an
improved leather package with golden or red accents. The German tuner will only
built 10 units of the RQ 900 worldwide and each one will cost a whopping
€ 280,000 (US$ 303,400).
