Buyers in Britain will be able to order
Skoda’s all-new 2020 Octavia starting next month, with the first units
scheduled to arrive in dealerships in July. Pricing will kick off from £ 22,390
(US$ 27,830) for the Octavia 1.5 TSI 150 PS SE First Edition, and climb
all the way to £ 29,515 (US$ 36,686) for the 2.0 TDI 150 PS DSG Estate SE L First
Edition spec.
Additional variants and powertrains will
join the range later this year, including an entry-level S model, a 1.0-liter
TSI unit available with a manual gearbox, the introduction of mHEV (mild
hybrid) DSG spec on both the 1.0 TSI and 1.5 TSI, plus PHEV and vRS models.
Initially, buyers will be able to choose
between three grades: SE First Edition, SE Technology and SE L First Edition.
While the former is reasonably well-specified, it’s the SE Technology trim
level that really kicks things up a gear.
It adds 16-inch alloy wheels, the
range-topping Columbus infotainment system with 10-inch touchscreen (instead of
8.25″), Remote Access, front and rear parking sensors with maneuver assist and
more. The SE L First Edition spec meanwhile comes with 17-inch alloy wheels,
chrome window surrounds, chrome strip in the lower front bumper, microsuede
upholstery, heated front seats, LED ambient lighting and more.
As for the engine range, it features three
options with power outputs ranging from 115 PS to 150 PS. If
you want a gasoline unit, you can get the 1.5 TSI 150 PS, while the entry-level
diesel offering is a 2.0 TDI engine with 115 PS. Both of these are mated to
six-speed manual transmissions.
If you opt for the flagship SE L First
Edition model, you can also get a 2.0 TDI 150 PS unit, available with a
seven-speed DSG automatic as standard.
