Even though all of McLaren’s 600LT Spider
models coming to North America have already been purchased, the British
carmaker is giving potential buyers the opportunity to land one of 12 cars
featuring a unique Segestria Borealis design theme courtesy of MSO. Each
example carries an MSRP of US$ 275,500, and features custom paint and interior
detailing inspired by the venomous arachnid, Segestria Florentina.
The cars, which have already gained the
nickname ‘Spider Spider’, arrived in the U.S. this month and are now reaching
select retailers who will be putting them up for sale. The Segestria Borealis
theme took the green fangs of the venomous spider and mirrored them in the twin
Napier Green stripes that run from the nose of the car all the way to the
top-exit exhausts at the rear. Meanwhile, the iridescent black body of the
spider is represented by the Borealis Black MSO Defined paint, which has deep
green, purple and claret undertones, depending on the angle of the light.
Other exterior features include the MSO Bespoke
Napier Green brake calipers, 10-spoke gloss black wheels, Napier Green web
motif on the rear wing and door mirrors, plus pinstripe detailing on the front
fender, side skirt and rear diffuser vanes. The MSO Clubsport Pack is also part
of the spec, adding Super Lightweight Carbon Fiber Racing Seats, a Carbon Fiber
interior upgrade, lightweight titanium wheel bolts and MSO Defined Gloss Visual
Carbon Fiber front fender louvres.
Inside, the 600LT Spider Segestria
Borealis comes with MSO Bespoke bright green stitching and webbing for the
Alcantara trimmed racing seats, unique headrest embroidery, steering wheel
stitching and 12 o’clock mark. It also has a Bowers and Wilkins 12-speaker
audio system, McLaren Track Telemetry, rear view camera and parking sensors,
lift system for the nose and a volumetric alarm upgrade.
As with any other McLaren 600LT, this one
too is powered by a 3.8-liter twin turbo V8 unit, producing 592 HP and 627 Nm of torque, allowing for a zero to 96 km/h)acceleration
time of just 2.8 seconds.
