The 2020 Ford Focus has just been updated
for the Australian market, bringing with it a host of upgrades and
improvements. New to the Aussie market are the 2020 Focus ST-Line and Focus
Active models, while the Ambiente, ST-Line Wagon and Titanium variants are no
longer offered. Both the 2020MY ST-Line hatch and Active utilize a 1.5-liter
turbocharged EcoBoost powertrain with 180 hp and 240 Nm that is
paired to an automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. This engine returns
6.4 l/100 km (36.7 mpg).
All Focus ST-Line and Focus Active models
come standard with FordPass Connect that includes convenient remote vehicle
functionality and connected services. The FordPass App also brings several
services designed to simplify the ownership experience of customers, including
roadside assistance, the ability to schedule a service online and for owner’s
to check their recent service history and owners’ manual while also providing a
convenient way to get in touch with a ‘Ford Guide’ who can assist with any
queries.
Elsewhere, 2020 Ford Focus models come
with front parking sensors, which were previously optional. Other standard
equipment includes a 180-degree reversing camera and an 8.0-inch infotainment
system with Ford’s SYNC3 system that includes Apple Car Play and Android Auto
connectivity.
As in overseas markets, the Focus ST-Line
is differentiated from lesser models by its unique styling, lowered sports
suspension and custom interior detailing. The car also includes multi-link rear
suspension. The Focus Active, on the other hand, aims to be the most versatile
variant in the Focus family and includes Trail and Slippery drive roads while
also including upgraded lighting and multi-link rear suspension.
Both the 2020 Ford Focus ST-Line and Focus
Active start at AU$ 30,990 (US$ 21,501).
