The 2020 Karma Revero GT packs a host of
improvements and now the company has revealed the model will be offered with
new sport and performance packages. Designed to take the car to the “next performance
level,” the packages add a host of styling and performance upgrades.
The sport package is mainly focused on
looks as it features carbon fiber exterior components as well as 22-inch wheels
with a dark finish. The package also swaps chrome trim for black accents and
adds a high-performance braking system with cross drilled rotors and red
calipers. The blackout theme continues in the cabin as there’s carbon fiber
trim and a black Karma badge on the steering wheel. The model also sports a GTS
insignia on the center console.
Customers can also order a performance
package which keeps the look of the standard Revero GT, while adding all of the
functional upgrades from the aforementioned sport package. The performance
package also adds a GTS interior badge and a special track mode. Karma told us
the sport package costs US$ 8,000 and turns the Revero GT into the Revero GTS.
This suggests the GTS’ price has increased from US$ 149,950 to US$ 152,800. The
company also said customers who just want the performance upgrades can get the
performance package for US$ 4,000.
Complicating matters even more is the fact
that Karma introduced the Revero GTS at least year’s Los Angeles Auto Show.
That model starts at US$ 149,950 and has much of the same equipment as the new
packages.
Karma said
the packages enable the Revero GT to accelerate from 0-96 km/h in
3.9 seconds. That’s roughly on par with the Revero GTS which had a claimed 0-96 km/h time of less than 3.9 seconds. Given this all of this, we’re
wondering if the Revero GTS has essentially been replaced by packages for the
standard model. We’ve reached out to
Karma for clarification and will update this post if we hear back.
