The Jaguar I-Pace has rolled into the new
model year with additional technology features and modest design changes. Available
to order from £ 65,195 (US$ 80,967) in the United Kingdom, the electric
SUV gains the new Pivi Pro infotainment system. Described as being “as
intuitive to use as a smartphone”, it provides access to different functions,
displaying them on a 10-inch touchscreen, which joins the 5-inch lower screen
and 12.3-inch digital cluster.
In addition, an optional wireless charging
pad has been added beneath the center console. The Smartphone Pack brings
standard Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Bluetooth that can pair two phones at
once, whereas the dual modem embedded SIM with complimentary 4G data plan opens
up the access to the world wide web.
The 360-degree camera system is standard
and rearview visibility has been enhanced with the introduction of the
ClearSight digital mirror that uses a wide-angle camera integrated into the
roof-mounted antenna module. The optional Meridian sound system has also been
updated and features two extra speakers in the headliner, bringing the number
to 16 speakers and 1 subwoofer. A modern cabin air filtration system is part of
the offering as well and can filter the cabin air before a journey begins.
Available on all models in the range, the
new Black Pack option complements the Atlas Grey grille tip finish, which is
another novelty. It brings a colorful look for certain parts, including the
Noble Chrome grille surround, Satin Chrome window surrounds, Atlas Grey side
mirror caps and rear diffuser. The Black Pack option adds a glossy black finish
to the rear badges. Speaking of colors, the palette has been expanded to
include Caldera Red, Portofino Blue and Eiger Grey. Additional wheel options
are also available.
The 2021 I-Pace has a standard 11 kW
on-board charger, which enables 53 km of range per hour, in the WLTP
cycle, using a 11 kW wall box. A full charge takes 8.6 hours, or 12.75 hours
via a 7 kW wall box at up to 35 km of charge per hour. Should you
find a 50 kW charger, you can add 63 km of range in 15 minutes, or 126 km via a 100 kW charger.
The Jaguar I-Pace packs two electric
motors making a total of 394 HP and 696 Nm of
torque. The 90 kWh battery gives the crossover a WLTP-rated range of up to 470 km.
