Peugeot recently updated the 308 compact
family by adding the 10-inch i-Cockpit digital instrument panel, a new paint
finish, and two new alloy wheel designs. But those are not all the updates made
to the 2021 Peugeot 308. The French automaker is also introducing a
well-equipped special series called Roadtrip. Based on the Allure Pack trim
level, the 308 Roadtrip limited edition model is available starting today in
hatchback and SW body styles.
Both bring specific decorations and
standard equipment that Peugeot says are “a clear invitation to travel”. Those
include the Orange Sunset accent pack which looks best with the 308’s new
Vertigo Blue body color – though all the other bodywork colors in the 308 range
are available.
Other exterior upgrades of the special
edition Peugeot 308 include the ‘Roadtrip’ badges on the front fenders, 16-inch
Zircon diamond rims, as well as tinted windows on the rear doors and tailgate.
Inside, highlights include the Alcantara and PET fabric upholstery in a diamond
design with Sunset Orange and Tramontane Grey stitching, front seat labels with
the ‘Roadtrip’ logo, as well as Orange Sunset and Tramontane Grey stitching for
the steering wheel, door panels, center armrest, and gear lever gaiter.
Rounding out the changes are aluminum sports pedals and footrests, Peugeot logo
on the door sills, and floor mats with stitching in Orange Sunset and
Tramontane Grey.
The 2021 Peugeot 308 Roadtrip can be
ordered with two turbocharged engines, one running on petrol and the other on
diesel fuel. The PureTech 130 1.2-liter three-cylinder petrol is offered with
either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed auto, while the BlueHDi 130
1.5-liter four-cylinder diesel comes with the same choice of transmissions.
Both engines deliver 130 PS each.
Standard equipment for the Peugeot 308
Roadtrip includes the 10-inch i-Cockpit digital cluster, electric parking
brake, 3D navigation connected TomTom Traffic and digital terrestrial radio
(DAB), and hands-free access and start. Standard driver assistance features
include adaptive cruise control, Visiopark with 180-degree rear view camera,
automatic emergency braking and collision risk alert, active lane departure
warning (or roadside departure warning), driver attention alert, automatic high
beam switching, and speed sign recognition.
