Porsche has officially unveiled the new Cayenne GTS lineup. Available in both
crossover and crossover coupe form, the Cayenne GTS swaps its predecessor’s
twin-turbo 3.6-liter V6 for a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 that develops 454 hp and 620 Nm of torque. That’s 20 hp and 20 Nm more than the previous Cayenne GTS, and this enables the
models to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds when equipped
with the Sport Chrono package. The
crossovers can also hit a top speed of 270 km/h.
The performance changes extend beyond the
engine compartment as the Cayenne GTS has been equipped with a sport-tuned
suspension which lowers the ride height by 20 mm. The models also come standard with the
Porsche Active Suspension Management system as well as Porsche Torque Vectoring
Plus. Customers can also order options
such as Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control, rear-axle steering and a three-chamber
air suspension.
On the styling front, the models are
equipped with the Sport Design package as well as tinted lighting units. The crossovers also have black exterior
accents, a sports exhaust system and 21-inch RS Spyder Design wheels. The
latter are backed up by a braking system that features red calipers as well as
cast iron discs that measure 15.4 inches (390 mm) front and 14.1 inches (358
mm) rear. Buyers looking for something
beefier can opt for tungsten carbide coated brakes or ceramic composite brakes.
Moving into the cabin, there’s Alcantara
upholstery on the center console, door panels and roof. Designers also
installed brushed aluminum trim and exclusive sport seats with prominent
bolsters. Drivers will also find plenty
of GTS logos as they’re located on the headrests, tachometer and door sill
plates.
The Cayenne GTS lineup is currently
available to order in Germany and deliveries will begin early next month. Pricing starts at € 114,087 for the standard
model and € 118,490 for the coupe. In the United States, a launch is scheduled
for this fall. Pricing will start at US$ 107,300 for the Cayenne GTS and US$ 107,300
for the Cayenne GTS Coupe – both excluding a US$ 1,350 delivery, processing and
handling fee.
