Honda has introduced a new range-topping
trim level for its CR-V SUV in Japan named the Black Edition. Available from
June 19, the CR-V Black Edition brings a sinister appearance courtesy of black
painted 18-inch aluminum wheels, smoked headlights and taillights, as well as
dark chrome plated exterior trim for the grille, fog light garnish, door lower
garnish, and tailgate garnish – plus a Black Edition emblem.
Inside, the Honda CR-V Black Edition
features genuine leather seats with Black Edition logo, piano black door
ornament panel and door handle, black dashboard panel and black roof lining.
The Black Edition treatment can be had
with either the 1.5-liter VTEC turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine or
the 2.0-liter two-motor hybrid powertrain which has been renamed e:HEV for the
new model year.
Other modifications across the CR-V lineup
include the introduction of sequential turn signals at the rear and heated
steering wheel as standard features. In addition, Honda has also added three
new colors to the SUV’s palette, a new fabric / prime leather upholstery for
the EX grade, as well as a revised steering wheel and heated rear seats for the
Masterpiece grade.
Prices for the Honda CR-V Black Edition
start from 3,774,100 yen (US$ 35,300) for the 1.5L model in five-seat, front-wheel
drive configuration. The Honda CR-V e:HEV EX Black Edition can be had from
4,338,400 yen (US$ 40,600), while all-wheel-drive is available on all variants at
extra cost.
