Images of the latest vehicle from Chinese automaker Hongqi have emerged, showing the SUV formerly known as the E115 in production guise. Hongqi first presented the H115 to the world in the form of a concept last year. The road-going model has retained largely the same features and looks but as revealed by Autohome, is now known as the Hongqi E-HS9.

These latest screenshots that emerged from Chinese social media videos show the luxurious SUV cruising around the car manufacturer’s factory and provide us with our best look at the overall design thus far. Dominating the front end of the Hongqi E-HS9 is a massive Rolls-Royce-esque chrome grille with vertical slats. Large silver elements are located on either side of the grille. Lighting is provided by horizontal main headlight units while there are also a pair of large LED daytime running lights positioned vertically.

The sides of the SUV include a prominent red accent just below the wing mirrors while this example is sitting on a set of large silver wheels. Spin around to the rear and there are taillights virtually identical to those of the E115 concept. The rear also includes chrome trimmings around the tailpipes.

Powering the all-electric Hongqi E-HS9 is a dual-motor, all-wheel drive system. Located at the front will be an electric motor with 215 hp and 350 Nm while an electric motor with 295 hp and 420 Nm will drive the rear wheels, resulting in a total of 510 hp and 770 Nm of torque. Power comes from a 92.4 kWh battery pack.

The production model is said to measure 5,160 mm long, 2,000 mm wide and 1,730 mm tall with a  3,250 mm wheelbase. That means it has a similar footprint to the BMW X7, which itself, is 5,151 mm long, 2,000 mm wide and 1,805 mm tall with a 3,105 mm wheelbase. Local prices are expected to range between 480,000 yuan (US$ 67,257) and 550,000 yuan (US$ 77,065).
