Lanzante has announced it will produce
seven versions of a limited-edition, McLaren-based model dubbed the LM 25. The new car will be created to celebrate the
25th anniversary of the McLaren F1 GTR winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1995.
The British company took to Instagram to announce the model although it
provided very little details about what we can expect. However, a look at
Lanzante’s history shows that it knows a thing or two about fast McLarens.
Lanzante burst onto the global scene when
the number 59 McLaren F1 GTR it was running with the famous Ueno Clinic livery
claimed victory in the world’s most famous endurance race. In more recent
years, Lanzante has been responsible for converting track-only McLaren P1 GTR
models into road-legal monsters and has also built the P1 LM, P1 GT Longtail,
and most recently, the one-off P1 GTR-18.
Piston Heads believes that it is the
McLaren Senna which will most likely serve as the base of the Lanzante LM 25.
While a host of McLaren dealerships have commissioned limited-edition versions
of the Senna, such as the LM and Can-Am, Lanzante has yet to work on the
company’s flagship track-focused hypercar.
Regardless of whether or not the LM 25 is
based around the Senna, we expect Lanzante to give the LM 25 a healthy dose of
additional power, new aerodynamic components, eye-catching looks, all while
stripping away all the unnecessary weight that it can.
