After revealing how the few lucky owners
can spec their Evija hypercar a couple of months ago, Lotus has now launched
the fan version of the online configurator. The process begins with the
exterior paint, which is split in two parts: Solid and Premium. The former
includes the usual black and two shades of grey colors, as well as the more
exclusive Dark Amethyst and Venom Green.
If weird shades are your thing, then you
are going to love the Premium offering, which lets you spec the British
electric hypercar in Solar Flare, Liquid Gold, Solaris Yellow, Lapis Blue,
Atomic Red and Ardent Green. The spectrum also includes Mercurial Silver,
Arctic White, Vanadium Grey and Carbon Black.
We went for Ardent Green and chose Solaris
Yellow from the ‘Accent Pack’ because we thought it complemented that shade
well. Choosing the perfect wheel set to go with this combo, though, is tricky.
Gold Origin was the first choice, but we also went through the Gloss Black
Origin, Gloss Silver Origin and Satin Black Origin offerings, as well as the
Gloss Black Aero and Gloss Silver Aero, and decided to stick with the 12 Spoke.
As for Lotus’ first hypercar, the specs are
definitely impressive, at 1,972 HP and 1,700
Nm of torque. The Evija is powered by four electric motors, has a 320+ km/h top speed, does the 0-100 km/h spring in less than 3
seconds and has a 400-km range.
Lotus will only make 130 examples, with
pricing starting at £ 1.7 million (US$ 2,135,470) in the UK.
