If a standard Polestar 2 isn’t dynamic
enough for you, the Swedish brand will gladly sell you a Performance Package
that’s meant to enhance your driving experience. It consists of a bespoke
Brembo braking system with manually adjustable Ohlins dual flow valve dampers,
lightweight forged 20-inch alloy wheels, while the “Swedish” gold brake
calipers, valve caps and seat belts complete the look.
All these options are available at launch,
across all launch markets. While exact pricing varies depending on where you
live, the Performance Package should set you back roughly 6,000 euros (US$ 6,767).
The Pack’s 20-inch wheels are 1.5 kg lighter than the optional 20-inch
ones (comes standard with 19″), and are wrapped in Continental SportContact
245/40 R20 rubber front and rear.
Meanwhile, the braking system utilizes low
drag technology that keeps the pads from dragging on the brake disc, while also
reducing noise and rolling resistance. The Brembo calipers were built to
optimize battery regeneration in order to assist with range – all this aside
from doing their main job, which is to offer improved braking performance.
As for the Ohlins dual flow valve dampers
(DFV), they’re meant to help increase control and adaptability to the road,
utilizing a design that “allows oil inside the damper to travel through two
different paths depending on the input speed of the suspension.”
The damping system provided to you by the
Polestar 2’s Performance Package is manually adjustable through 22 different
settings, unlike the regular three settings you’d find on most other vehicles
(comfort, normal and sport).
