The SAIC-GM-Wuling joint venture is on a roll these days, launching a flurry of new models under its Baojun and Wuling brands in China. The latest vehicle announced by the company is the new Wuling Victory midsize MPV that the brand is teasing in three renderings. The minivan will be the first model to feature Wuling’s new global silver badge which signals the brand’s ambitions to expand beyond China.

As it’s always the case with design sketches, the rendered Wuling Victory looks rather sleek, but you can be sure the real vehicle will be toned down for production. Still, it appears to combine the proportions of an MPV and an SUV and that’s good because people these days go crazy after sports utility vehicles.

At the front, it sports split LED headlights with the low beams and DRLs housed inside sleek horizontal lights at the top while the high beams are placed lower down in a four-piece cluster. The front bumper looks aggressive for an MPV thanks to its sharp lines while the wide hexagonal grille with horizontal chrome slats has the new Wuling silver badge at its center.

Seen from the side, the Wuling Victory adopts a ‘floating roof’ design as the D-pillars are concealed by glass. We can also notice a creased waistline and a chrome molding that runs along the top of the side windows.

Out back, the Victory features long horizontal LED taillights that extend halfway through the fenders, a sporty bumper, creased tailgate, and generous roof spoiler. According to the short statement accompanying the images, the Victory’s “stylish design will conform with mainstream international aesthetics while demonstrating the strength of Wuling.” The MPV’s mission is to take the entire brand upmarket as it becomes more global.

As a reminder, SAIC-GM-Wuling announced in April that the Wuling brand would go global by introducing three new models in a variety of international markets. Those will include the Cetus crossover coming this year, Ursa SUV arriving in 2021, and Sirius coupe scheduled for 2022. It remains to be seen if the Victory MPV will join them or will remain a China-only model. For now, all we know is Wuling will debut it at the Chengdu Motor Show in late July.
