Bentley continues to refresh its lineup
with a number of updates made to the Flying Spur luxury saloon for the 2021
model year. The updates focus on the interior, but there are several new
options available for the exterior as well. Those include three new exterior
paint colors (Viridian, Patina and Snow Quartz), which expand the range to 62
colors. Customers also have access to the full Bentley Mulliner palette of
satin and pearlescent options, as well as full bespoke color matching on
request.
Bentley also offers a bright chrome finish
for the main radiator grille as well as two new wheels: one finished in gloss
black and the other in black and machine. For the interior, customers can now
choose a four-seat cabin, available with electrically-deployed, veneered picnic
tables. The rear cabin of the Flying Spur also gains hand cross-stitching and
semi-aniline leather.
Bentley says the hand cross stitch process
takes 18 hours for one craftsperson and requires 11,100 hand sewn stitches to
be made throughout the cabin. The unique thread is said to be extremely
durable, using special dyes to maintain its color for the lifespan of the
vehicle. Also present on the list of options are veneered inserts for the rear
doors, a newly-designed standard steering wheel with increased safety
functionality, and two new technical finishes for those who don’t want the
standard contemporary wood veneers: carbon fiber and Côtes de Genève.
Buyers who order the new four-seat
configuration benefit from a long-through console extending from the front
console to the rear. It includes a new housing for the 5-inch touchscreen
remote, twin cup holders and extra stowage. The rear armrest, which can be
heated and incorporate a wireless charging point, features a bright metal
finisher and hides two USB ports and a 12v power socket.
