The popular Honda CR-V has been updated
for the 2021 model year in Australia, benefiting from a series of technology
and safety updates. The most important upgrade relates to models equipped with
Honda’s 1.5-liter VTEC turbo engine, as they now all come as standard with the
Honda Sensing suite, which includes advanced safety and driver-assist
technologies.
The Japanese automaker has equipped the
2021 CR-V with updated front and rear bumpers, a dark chrome tailgate garnish,
dark-tinted taillight lenses and a black grille. There is also a new 18-inch
wheel design for VTi X, VTi L AWD, and VTi L7 models, while the higher-end VTi
LX AWD receives a distinctive 19-inch wheel design with a light grey finish.
Honda has also added Ignite Red metallic
and Cosmic Blue metallic as additional paint options, joining the existing
Platinum White pearlescent, Lunar Silver metallic, Brilliant Sport Blue
metallic, Modern Steel metallic and Crystal Black pearlescent.
In the cabin, Honda has fitted a
redesigned center console with improved storage and convenience features,
including easier access to phone and USB ports. Certain variations also receive
a wireless charging pad and a hands-free power tailgate.
A total of seven CR-V variants will be offered
for 2021. The range kicks off at AU$ 30,490 (US$ 21,766) for the entry-level Vi
