Rolls-Royce has confirmed in a letter
issued to prospective clients that the all-new Ghost is on the way and will be
“the purest expression of Rolls-Royce yet.” In the letter, Rolls-Royce boss
Torsten Müller-Otvös said the vehicle will be launched in autumn (September –
November). He also states that the coronavirus pandemic hit just as Rolls-Royce
was entering the final development stages with the car but that the marque has
worked around it to finish off the car.
Underpinning the 2021 Ghost will be the
same aluminum underpinnings of the latest-generation Phantom. Most Ghost models
sold will use a 6.75-liter twin-turbo V12 that produces 563 hp and 900 Nm while paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The company has
previously ruled out hybrids.
Rolls-Royce will start a teaser campaign
for the new Ghost in the coming weeks which will start of “with a series of
four beautiful animations.” The luxury sedan will then be unveiled in a digital
event.
