Skoda has announced it will unveil the
Enyaq iV EV on September 1 in Prague, Czech Republic. The company’s first
electric crossover will be underpinned by the Volkswagen Group’s MEB versatile
platform and will launch with different powertrain configurations that will
include five power levels, three battery sizes, and rear- and four-wheel drive.
In the most frugal variant, the Czech
automaker promises up to 500 km of range, measured in the WLTP
cycle, as well as fast charging at up to 125 kW. As Skoda has previously
confirmed, the base model will debut with a 55 kWh battery, a 146 HP
rear-mounted motor and a 340 km autonomy. The 178 HP variant will
follow with a 62 kWh battery and 390 km of range, while the one
that will travel for up to 500 km will feature a 201 HP motor and
an 82 kWh battery.
Those who want the Enyaq iV with all-wheel
drive will have to choose between the 262 HP and 302 HP versions, with the
latter wearing the RS badge. Both models will pack the same 82 kWh battery and
will have a 460 km range. Thanks to clever packaging, the Enyaq iV
is said to offer a similar nterior space to the Kodiaq mid-size crossover,
despite being shorter than the compact Octavia. Full details surrounding the
company’s zero-emission crossover will be announced in a little over a month.
