Audi is bidding farewell to the
entry-level R8 V10 quattro with 30 limited edition models finished in either
Mugello Blue, Avus Silver, or Sonoma Green. These final models also feature
unique interior and exterior elements and are set to go on sale this summer
from US$ 186,000 for the Coupe and US$ 195,000 for the Spyder. Meanwhile, the V10
Performance variant will continue to be available for the 2021 model year in
the United States.
Starting with what hasn’t changed, these
limited-edition models are powered by the same naturally aspirated V10 engine
as any other R8 V10 quattro, pushing out 562 HP and 550 Nm of
torque with the aid of a seven-speed S Tronic dual-clutch gearbox.
New to these limited-edition models is the
carbon fiber front sway bar, brought in from the R8 Performance variants – it
saves 2 kg of weight. They also feature a sport exhaust system,
borrowed from the same R8 Performance.
Visually, these cars feature Audi
Exclusive paint options and alu-optic mirror caps. The lower trim, engine
compartment and side blades are all finished in carbon fiber, while the brake
calipers are painted red for a more sporty look.
If you opt for a Coupe model, keep in mind
that there are 15 Mugello Blue with pastel silver interior cars, five Avus
Silver ones with black interiors and red stitching, and another five Sonoma
Green examples with a black interior and grey stitching. There are only five
Spyders available, all in Mugello Blue with pastel silver interiors. All models
come with Audi Exclusive floor mats, as well as color-matched piping and
stitching, while the 20-inch milled wheels are finished in silver for the first
time on an R8 in the U.S.
As for the interior, novelties include the
carbon fiber high-gloss surrounds for both the virtual cockpit and the air
vents, as well as the carbon sigma high-gloss inlays. Coupe variants also come
with a diamond-stitched Alcantara headliner.
