Mini is expanding its special edition
offerings for 2021 in the U.S. with the arrival of the Coral Red Edition
hardtop model, priced at US$ 33,275 if you want the 2-door, and US$ 34,520 for the
4-door, plus an additional US$ 850 destination and handling fee. Only around 300
units will be made available to U.S. buyers, all of which are expected to
arrive at Mini retailers across the nation later this month.
Notable visuals on this Coral Red Edition
model include the Coral Red Metallic exterior (normally reserved for Mini
Clubman models), as well as the black roof and mirror caps. Meanwhile, the
headlight rings, tail light rings, grille frame, front and rear wing badges and
door handles are all dressed up in Piano Black.
Inside, this special edition city car
offers matching Piano Black trim and Carbon Black leatherette upholstery. As
for standard features, they include 17-inch Rail Spoke 2-tone wheels, LED
headlights and fog lights, as well as Union Jack LED tail lights.
Speaking of the Mini 1100 Special from
1979, these Coral Red Edition cars are meant to pay it homage. The 1100 Special
was offered in Metallic Rose or Metallic Silver and featured chrome
Clubman-style bumpers, a black-centered grille, vinyl roof, wide shaded side
stripes, a “Special” grille badge, “Mini Special” boot badge and Mini Special
A-panel decals.
