If for some reason the standard
Lamborghini Huracan or even the Performante variant is not enough for you, a
little-known tuning company has unleashed what could be the most insane
track-focused Huracan on earth.
The car is dubbed the LP1200 and it comes
from a Norwegian company by the name of Zyrus. This company just so happens to
campaign a Huracan Super Trofeo in the Norwegian Extreme GT Championship and
put all of its racing expertise to good use with the creation of its bonkers
road-legal Huracan LP1200.
Zyrus plans on building 24 examples of its
insane Huracan, 12 of which will be track-only monsters while the others will
be road legal. All examples will see the car’s standard 5.2-liter V10 adorned
with a set of turbochargers that pump it up to 1,200 hp.
Of course, it is not just the turbos that
result in such an insane level of power as the LP1200 also includes a Motec
ECU, an Inconel manifold, and a titanium exhaust. Perhaps most impressive is
that Zyrus has not tried to upgrade the standard dual-clutch transmission and
instead replaced it with an Xtrac racing gearbox.
While there are lots of twin-turbo
packages for the Huracan out there, Zyrus has gone further than most tuners by
also overhauling the body of the supercar, designing custom carbon fiber parts.
Among the changes made include an all-new front fascia, new sides, flared wheel
arches, and an overhauled rear end with a fixed rear wing and a massive
diffuser. These parts don’t just look cool but they are said to generate 1,200
kg (2,645 lbs) of downforce and help keep the weight to just 1,200 kg.
Finally the
interior has been completely stripped out and very few parts from an ordinary
Huracan have been retained.
