Following that first teaser image of the
Sonet released last week, Kia has now opened the small crossover’s doors,
revealing the interior design in these new official renderings. Taking center
stage is the wide-screen infotainment system sitting in the middle of the
dashboard, on top of the two vertical middle air vents that flank the HVAC
controls.
Next to it, the automaker has added a
segment-first 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and drivers will look at
it through the three-spoke, multi-function steering wheel.
A big gear selector and a traditional
handbrake lever can also be seen in the teaser images released by the Korean
auto firm, as well as the metallic trim on the center console, steering wheel,
door panels and so on.
The two front seats are separated by an
armrest and we can also see that the subcompact crossover features illuminated
door pockets and a special pattern on the seats that further highlights the
vehicle’s youthful flair.
Previewed by the Sonet Concept shown at
the 2020 Delhi Auto Expo, the production Sonet will look pretty much the same,
bar a few normal changes that will include the introduction of regular door
handles and perhaps bigger side mirrors. The front end will boast the
traditional tiger nose grille, and at the back, it will sport slim taillights,
joined together by a thin light strip. The plastic cladding on the lower ends
of the body and small roof rails seem to carry over too.
The 2021 Sonet will premiere on August 7
in India, and from there, it will launch in other markets worldwide.
