Opel was spied testing the facelifted
iteration of the Crossland X, and it appears at first sight that the subcompact
crossover might bring more than revised looks. The enclosed grille was not the only design change in store for
the facelifted Crossland X. There’s also a new front bumper with repositioned
creases for the fog lamps and two wide air intakes further down.
The headlamps appear to carry over with
the same shape and graphics, and so does the entire back end, despite the
partially hidden tailgate and quarter panels. Nonetheless, this is still an
early tester, and these aspects could change.
If you’re tempted to think the Crossland X
will get an all-electric variant, that’s highly unlikely because the
new-generation Mokka-e already covers that segment for Opel and Vauxhall.
Another reason why we won’t see a Crossland X EV is the fact that its PF1
platform does not support electrification. We should see some updates to the
engines for lower emissions and minor changes to the interior, though.
Opel and Vauxhall have already
announced that all future models will get the new ‘Vizor’ front fascia that
debuted on the 2021 Mokka and it looks like the Crossland X will make no
exception. We should learn more about the updated Crossland X perhaps later
this year or in early 2021.
