The Wuling Victory midsize MPV has finally
been revealed in full as the partly GM-owned automaker has released official
photos of the exterior. While the interior shots we saw earlier this month
included one CGI that showed bits of the exterior as well, we now get to see
actual studio shots of the MPV and we have to say the Wuling Victory doesn’t
look half bad.
As with most new minivans nowadays, the
Wuling Victory looks like a mix between an MPV and an SUV, boasting a higher
ground clearance than some crossovers as well as muscular proportions.
Highlights include Wuling’s new global silver badge at the center of the
sizable grille flanked by split LED headlights.
The profile sports a “floating roof”
design thanks to the blacked-out B-, C- and D-pillars as well as a visible
stamping on the belt line that’s connected to the sleek LED taillights. Out
back, we can also spot a generous tailgate and a clean bumper design devoid of
tailpipes.
The Wuling Victory is significantly
smaller than full-size MPVs like the Buick GL8 or VW Viloran, measuring 4,875
mm in length; that’s about 350 mm less than the GL8 and almost 500
mm less than the Viloran. The Victory is also slightly narrower at 1,880 mm and lower at 1,700 mm.
The wheelbase measures 2,800 mm, enabling the Victory to offer six-seats as standard, though a luxurious
four-seat variant with a second-row delete and two captain’s chairs on the
third row is also available.
According to CarNewsChina, the most
powerful engine offered in the Victory is a 1.5-liter turbo with 148 HP on tap. That’s not much, especially for a minivan designed to travel with
six passengers and luggage onboard. The Wuling Victory will go on sale in China
in the fourth quarter of 2020 and later on in other markets as well. The MPV is
one of several new models that will spearhead Wuling’s global expansion. If the
reports from China are accurate, Europe will be the first region outside China
to get the Wuling Victory from 2022.
