Bentley has chosen Cheval Blanc in St
Tropez for the global debut of the Continental GT Convertible Mulliner. The
model will boast a unique Double Diamond grille, new Mulliner 22-inch wheels
and a bespoke interior. Exterior features include the Mulliner-branded side
vents, which continue the car’s unique silver-on-black diamond theme.
It is however the interior that actually
stands out more, thanks in part Diamond-in-Diamond quilting design. It adorns
all four seats, the door panels, rear quarters and, for the first time, the
tonneau cover. This pattern also features contrast stitching in two
complementary colors that accentuate the thread against the quilting itself.
Sticking with the interior, you can choose
between eight custom-made three-color combinations, including a third accent
color in the form of a distinctive design line. There’s a tactile Diamond
Milled Technical finish on the center console, which also houses a new and
exclusive Breitling for Mulliner clock whose bezel is finished in chrome, just
like the air vent surrounds.
Customers can also get the top of the
range Naim for Bentley audio system, with 18 speakers and two Active Bass
transducers powered by a 2,200 watt, 20-channel amplifier.
As for performance, you can opt for either
a V8 or a W12 powertrain. The latter is a 6.0-liter twin turbocharged unit
capable of accelerating the Continental GT Mulliner Convertible to 96
km/h in 3.7 seconds (0-100 km/h in 3.8 sec), before maxing out at 333
km/h. The newer 4.0-liter twin turbo V8 is, unsurprisingly, a tad slower, with
a 0-96 km/h in 4.0 sec (0-100 km/h in 4.1 sec) and a top speed of 318 km/h.
The new Bentley Continental GT Mulliner
Convertible is available with an extended paint range of 88 colors.
