Lexus will start accepting orders for the
new UX 300e in October in the United Kingdom, but meanwhile, customers can
already reserve a build slot via the internet. Right now, there’s only one
grade available, priced from £ 43,900 (US$ 57,285) but it’s eligible for the £ 3,000 (US$ 3,915) government grant.
It will be launched with two option packs,
the Premium Plus and Takumi. The first one bumps the price to £ 47,400
(US$ 61,850), adding leather upholstery, heated outer rear seats, additional
ventilation function for the front seats, heated steering wheel, wireless
charging pad, card key, keyless entry and puddle lights.
Opting for the Takumi, which adds a Mark Levinson premium sound system, 10.3-inch
Lexus Navigation, electric tailgate, 360-degree camera system, head-up display,
sunroof, triple LED headlights with adaptive high beam, blind spot monitor,
rear cross traffic alert with auto braking, aluminum scuff plates and 18-inch
alloy wheels, means paying at least £ 53,500 (US$ 69,810).
Standard features on all models include
the bi-LED headlights with automatic high beam, illuminated entry, front and
rear parking sensors, reversing camera, rain-sensing wipers, 17-inch alloy
wheels, aluminum roof rails, smartphone integration, heated and power
adjustable front seats and the Lexus Safety System+ safety pack. The Fuji Red
and Velvet Black are the only standard exterior colors, but customers can get
one of the five optional metallic or two special paint finishes, dubbed the
Sonic Titanium and Sonic White.
The UX 300e is powered by an electric
motor that produces 201 HP and 300 Nm of torque.
The 0-100 km/h acceleration takes 7.5 seconds and with the 54.3 kWh
lithium-ion battery fully charged, it has a targeted driving range of 315 km. The battery supports DC and AC fast charging, with the former taking
an estimated 52 minutes to charge to 80 percent.
Full details will be announced in October,
when order books will open, and customer deliveries will begin from March next
year.
