Nissan unveiled the Magnite Concept late last month but only showed us the exterior of the study that previews its smallest SUV. Now it’s time to check out the interior for the first time as the automaker has released two new images which hint at what Indian buyers should expect from the production model as far as design and equipment go.

The Magnite’s multi-layered dashboard features different textures and brushed aluminum trim for a premium look. The bottom half of the dash looks the Renault Triber with which the Nissan Magnite will share the CMF-A platform.

As with most new cars nowadays, the Magnite features an 8-inch central touchscreen display that helps reduce the number of physical buttons by integrating many of the car’s functions. It’s doubled by a digital instrument panel operated via the new multifunction steering wheel.

Other features visible in the images are the automatic climate control dials, push-button start, power-adjustable mirrors, and rear AC vents. It remains to be seen whether all of these will be offered in the production model but we do know the Nissan Magnite will launch with cruise control, a 360-degree camera, and connected car features.

Expected to debut in India in January 2021, the Nissan Magnite will compete in the sub-4-meter segment, making it the brand’s smallest SUV worldwide. Two petrol engines will be offered, a 72 HP naturally aspirated 1.0-liter three-cylinder and a 95 HP 1.0-liter turbocharged three-pot.

A five-speed manual transmission will be standard on both variants, with options including an automated manual for the base engine and a CVT for the turbo unit. According to Autocar India, pricing will be very competitive, with the entry model starting from 525,000 rupees (US$ 7,000).
