The Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport may have
been discontinued, but Yido Performance has modified one quite extensively. The
German tuner has equipped it with a new body kit, consisting of the front
apron, new side skirts and rear diffuser. The front and rear VW logos have a
black and red finish, yet these are not the most visible upgrades, due to the
extremely flashy looks of the whole car that combines different shades and
boasts multiple sponsor decals.
Contrasting the design are gold-brushed
wheels, 9×20-inch in size, which are partially hidden behind the arches. There
is also an upgraded braking system with six-piston calipers, an adjustable air
suspension and an exhaust system with flap control from Remus.
Through the open tailgate, we can see that
the flashy looks have been introduced inside as well, and can be found on the
front seatbacks and on the air suspension tank. This Golf GTI Clubsport has the
grunt to match its looks, as it featured a Stage 2 power upgrade, which
includes the turbo inlet and outlet, intercooler, carbon intake and a software
remap, among others. The result is 414 HP and 651
Nm of torque, up from the standard car’s 261 HP and 350 Nm, which increases to 286 HP and 380
Nm)on overboost.
There is no new estimate for the 0-100 km/h, but the stock Golf GTI Clubsport needs just 5.9 seconds, while
maxing out at 250 km/h.
