At £ 42,850 ($54,744) with the six-speed manual and £ 46,870 (US$ 59,879) for the seven-speed automatic transmission version, excluding tax, the 2020 Nissan Navara AT32 is one pricey cookie in the United Kingdom. A rival to the likes of the Ford Range Raptor, which starts at £ 41,145 (US$ 52,565) locally, excluding tax, it is the most extreme variant of the Navara yet and was built in partnership with the Icelandic off-road experts at Arctic Trucks.
Presented at the beginning of the year and
on its way to UK dealerships, with the order books already open, the new Navara
AT32 builds on the success of the previous model, which was introduced in 2018,
retaining its wheel arch flares and Arctic Trucks Bilstein elevated and
optimized performance suspension.
Besides these, it features improved full
aluminum underbody protection and special alloy wheels from Arctic Trucks
finished in satin black and fitted with dual valves that facilitate faster
adjustment of the tire pressure when moving between different surfaces. The
wheels are wrapped in 31.6-inch all-terrain tires from Nokian’s Rotiiva series
and are said to improve the off-road performance, fuel economy and emissions of
the pickup truck. Rounding up the looks is the special badging.
Those who enjoy venturing off the beaten
path can order several optional accessories, such as the electronic front
differential lock that boosts traction, a snorkel that increases the Navara
AT32’s wading depth to 800 mm, a sunroof and a full-size spare wheel
and tire. Elsewhere, the vehicle is still fitted with the Intelligent Around
View Monitor, Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control and Intelligent Emergency
Braking.
