The 2021 Mazda6 will arrive at dealerships
later this month, bringing small changes as well as a new Carbon Edition with
standout styling features. Mazda’s latest midsize sedan will be priced from US$ 25,270, including a US$ 945 destination and handling fee, for the base Sport
model that comes standard with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The 2021 Mazda6 Sport also offers the full
suite of i-Activsense safety features, which includes a radar cruise control
with stop-and-go function, Advanced City Brake Support with Pedestrian
Detection, Smart Brake Support with Collision Warning, and Lane Departure
Warning with Lane Keep Assist and Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Traffic
Alert.
Power for the Mazda6 Sport and Touring
comes from a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter Skyactiv-G four-cylinder engine with
187 HP and 186 lb-ft of torque, paired to a six-speed automatic transmission.
The generous equipment list of the 2021 Mazda6 Sport also includes an
eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a six-speaker audio system,
Bluetooth, two USB inputs, dual-zone climate control, remote keyless entry, LED
headlights and taillights, and more.
If you want the more powerful Mazda6 in
the range, you’ll have to opt for at least the Grand Touring model in the
range; power here comes from the 2.5-liter Skyactiv-G Turbo engine, which pumps
out 250 HP and 320 lb-ft of torque with premium, 93-octane fuel or 227 HP and
310 lb-ft of torque when running on regular 87-octane fuel. The 2021 revisions
also include a new ‘Turbo’ badge added to the trunk. The 2021 Mazda6 Grand
Touring also features a first for Mazda, with the addition of wireless Apple
CarPlay as standard.
Next is the Grand Touring Reserve trim
level, which is packed with many premium features as standard, including a Bose
11-speaker audio system, a full-color head-up Active Driving Display, SiriusXM
satellite radio, adaptive front lights, leather-trimmed seats, with the front
ones being ventilated as well, eight-way power and memory driver’s seat with
power lumbar support and six-way power passenger’s seat, a set of 19-inch
bright silver alloy wheels, and more.
The new 2021 Mazda6 Carbon Edition is
based on the Grand Touring Reserve and features Polymetal Gray exterior paint,
a gloss black rear lip spoiler with matching door mirrors, and a set of black
19-inch alloy wheels. The interior comes with red leather seats with black
cross stitching, black hairline interior accents on the dash and door cards,
and red stitching on the dash and center console.
The range-topping version of the 2021
Mazda6 is the Signature trim level, which features a gunmetal front grille and
an interior dressed in Nappa leather, authentic Japanese Sen wood, and
UltraSuede accents. The equipment here includes a 360-degree View Monitor, a
seven-inch TFT digital gauge display, LED ambient lights, and more.
