Facelifted for the 2021MY with some visual
changes, new powertrains and a Shooting Brake variant joining the family, the
Volkswagen Arteon is now on sale in the United Kingdom. The range includes
three trim specifications for the Arteon and two for the Arteon Shooting Brake,
with prices starting at £ 35,435 (US$ 47,087) and £ 37,640 (US$ 50,017)
respectively.
The base model, which is reserved for the
liftback for now, is dubbed the SE Nav and features 17-inch alloy wheels, LED
head- and taillights, front and rear parking sensors, three-zone climate
control, 8-inch infotainment system and 6-way electrically adjustable driver’s
seat.
The Elegance spec brings 18-inch alloys,
keyless entry, reversing camera, leather-wrapped steering wheel with touch
controls, heated seats, voice control, adaptive cruise control and lane keeping
system. Choosing the range-topping R-Line will get you sporty looks on the
outside, 19-inch alloys, dual trapezoidal exhaust tips, tinted rear windows,
30-color ambient lighting and a sunroof, with the Shooting Brake getting a
panoramic sunroof.
Powering the entry-level SE Nav is a 150
PS 2.0-liter TDI diesel, which is also available in the Elegance,
alongside the 190 PS 2.0-liter TSI petrol. The R-Line packs
the same engines as the mid-spec model and all of them are mated to the 7-speed
DSG dual-clutch transmission. In the coming months, Volkswagen will expand the
facelifted Arteon range with the introduction of the 150 PS 1.5-liter TSI petrol engine that’ll be mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, the
plug-in hybrid eHybrid and the 320 PS Arteon R with 4Motion
all-wheel drive.
